Ok… I have been busy and lazy. I blamed these 2 reason for my last one and a half month of no updated entries in my blog. For those wondering what have I been up to since I quit my full time job in oct last year, well I been juggling night classes and freelancing work.
I have been lucky to score a gig at Sparkfury for the months of Nov and Dec, where I had a chance to work with some cool people and made some new friends. The work is pretty run of the mill but hey, it does help in paying the bills. Well, my contract is up and I will have to start looking for other freelancing gig around. So… if any of ya have any lobangs for me, please…please… let me know! I need the funds for my “get Hendra a bachelor’s pad” program.
Needless to say, the combo of work and rushing for class is seriously screwing up my personal work for the last month of so. But I am back now! I will try updating my blog with personal work and balance my overdue school works. Meanwhile I will still strive to find means to earn a buck or 2 with my designs. Maybe start my own street brand maybe!

Needless to say, now you know where I got the inspiration for today’s artwork. Very suitable don’t you think?
Meanwhile, to the chap in the vid – I don’t know who you are, but seriously I do pity you. For one thing, you and your female friend are infamous now thanks to the power of the internet. That’s what happen when you aired your dirty laundry up for the public to view by the way. Maybe you do deserve the punishment, but judging for the vid, I have a nagging feeling that your girlfriend is just a bit wee too over zealous in carrying out your punishment (think Charles Bronson in the Death Wish movies). If that is the case then i REALLY do pity you… coz there is a chance that your /girlfriend/wife/S&M mistress/ might treat your ’little bros’ as 7-11 pinatas each time she decides you screwed up. She will have the last word, after all she seem to be the one calling the shots in your relationship. (eg: didn’t wash the dishes = 2 heel shots … didn’t laundry the clothes = 3 heel shots etc…)
If that is the case, might i suggest that you either:
- Totally lose your balls (since they aren’t going to be much use being just cannon folders)
or
- Grow some balls of steel for christ sake. You are a man, so act like a bloody one already.
Earlier last night while I was unsuccessfully willing my entire brain region to come up with a topic to artblog about, a friend buzzed me over MSN at precisely 4min after midnight and ask me what was I doing. I replied that I was doing my usual ‘seeking of the elusive spark of creative’ to artblog about. After that she pretty much commented that i was ‘siao’ and ‘too eng’ to be doing this in the office and coming back home for another round. She deduced that if I keep this up every night, I am going to end up obese and sexless and dead from massive rupture of blood vessels in my brain in front of my computer.
So why do i do it? Call it god complex if you will then. I mentioned briefly before that all designers/artists do have a bit of that in all of us. The good ones especially have a surging desire to create regradless who’s buying into our work or not. This blog is my evergoing rockstar worldtour – A stage where my uncompromise belief that being WHO I AM is doing something i relish in, something which I am proud of and strive to be better at always. At the end of the day, when I am planted 6 feet under a heap of carbon compost, my headstone can read – Here lies Hendra, a designer in his little ways. Yupe… I think I will be pretty happy with that.
I know what you blog readers are thinking – What in the world would possess me to design and blog about a mere day call ‘Wednsday’? Doesn’t this designer have better things to do? Like draw more fluffy cartoons or create more visuals to sell more beauty products?
The interesting thing about Wednesday to me is that it’s always a crossroad between of 2 opposite emotion. Being in the middle of the week, Wednesday doesn’t give me the overwhelming dread and despair of the much hated Monday and yet it is hardly the full blown euphoric adoration of any given Friday. Wednesday’s feeling are more like a tinkle of anticipation, a beacon of light at the end of the tunnel if you will, a reminder of the good things to come on a weekend. Time with friends, family and yourself – to have nothing remotely to do with work. I can’t say for all of you, but I personally rather like these feelings that come with Wednesday.
